Influence

A friend once asked me if there were any sayings or ideas that influenced me a lot.



At that time, my answer was:



“I would say 亦舒. She makes me think that woman should have her style, be independent & strong.

There’s no particular saying that makes me totally change. Apart from 亦舒, may be the idea of god, heaven & hell, karma influenced me a lot. That makes me want to be a nice & kind person. But I cannot tell whether I was born to be nice, or I believe in a reward & punishment mechanism by an unseen power so I act good. And I believe everything happens for a reason, may be it’s a result of what u did, or it’s teaching u a lesson. (u must think I m saying rubbish). What i m saying is, i tend to find the reasons on everything happened on me, otherwise they are meaningless and so as my life. ”



What would be my answer now?



I can name a number of incidents ......but I cant recall any single saying / idea that influenced me most. Nothing special. Nothing new.



Somehow........this question reminds me a line from 《亞特蘭提斯之謎》:



“與其走一條別人都認為對的路，不如走一條就算錯了自己也不會後悔的路”



It should be the best statement to sum up how I live so far.
